A notice of disassociation is a request from you to a credit reference agency (CRA) to remove financial associates from your file. Following various checks to ensure the financial association has genuinely ended, the CRA will then remove the financial associate from your file. A notice of disassociation can only be made through a CRA.
Once the association has been removed, that other person’s credit rating will not be taken into account when creditors are assessing how creditworthy you are.
Where a judgment has been entered against another person at your address who shares the same name as you, the defendant can contact the claimant and request that the date of birth of the defendant be added to the record. This request will need to be sent to the relevant court (England & Wales judgments only).
